Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 21st May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you use JKBounce, how we use it, and your rights regarding it. JKBounce is operated by James Kershaw, trading as JKBounce, in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.
What we collect
When you visit the Website
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed, timestamp) generated by Wix, our website hosting provider. Used only for security and operational diagnostics.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or fingerprinting tools.
When you purchase a subscription
- Name, email address, billing address, and payment details are collected by FastSpring (our Merchant of Record) at checkout.
- We receive the email address and name from FastSpring to identify your licence and provide support. We do not receive or store full payment card details; those remain with FastSpring's PCI-DSS compliant payment processor.
When you use the Software
- Your licence key and the email it was issued to are stored locally on your Mac (in the system Keychain).
- The Software periodically contacts FastSpring's servers to verify that your subscription is still active. This transmits the licence key and a non-personal Mac identifier (host name) so we can confirm the activation count is within your seat limit.
- We do not collect, transmit, or store the contents of your Pro Tools sessions, your mixes, or any audio you bounce. All bounce operations happen locally on your Mac.
When you contact support
- Whatever information you choose to share in the support email, plus any system reports you attach.
How we use it
- To deliver and maintain the Software (licence verification, updates)
- To process your subscription and provide receipts
- To respond to support requests
- To communicate important service notices (e.g. material changes to these terms, breaking compatibility changes)
- To comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use your email address to send marketing emails unless you have explicitly opted in.
Third parties we share data with
- FastSpring processes your subscription and payment. Their privacy policy: https://fastspring.com/privacy/
- Wix hosts our website. Their privacy policy: https://www.wix.com/about/privacy
- Cloudflare (if applicable) serves the Software's auto-update appcast. They process IP addresses for fraud prevention and CDN routing.
These are sub-processors who act on our behalf. We do not share data with anyone else without your explicit consent or where required by law.
Where your data is stored
- Licence verification servers (FastSpring) operate in the US and EU
- Website infrastructure (Wix, Cloudflare) operates globally with appropriate data-transfer safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside the UK/EU)
How long we keep it
- Active subscription data: for as long as your subscription is active and for 7 years thereafter, to comply with HMRC record-keeping requirements
- Support correspondence: 3 years from last contact, then deleted
- Server logs: 30 days
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your data, subject to our retention obligations
- Restrict or object to processing
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing relies on consent)
- Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at https://ico.org.uk
To exercise any of these rights, email support@jameskershawmusic.com. We will respond within one month.
Cookies
The JKBounce Software does not use cookies. The Wix-hosted website uses strictly necessary cookies for site operation and does not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. See the cookie banner on the website for full details.

JKBounce is a professional audio tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email and through the Software's update notes.
